If anything in Quran contradicts what we know due to reason and morality, those parts must be thrown out just as past revelations were distorted and people weren't expected to follow irrational teachings of it simply because their scholars said a text is fully holy.
Rather if we are to follow all the Quran, our hearts and minds should testify to it's majesty and beauty, and confirm it through reasoning.
Following our true nature is priority number one.
