While not "essential" burkas are useful tool for people trying to escape justice, regardless of gender.

I'm not saying I'm pro-ban, but burkas are really f***ing convenient for criminals.
I'm probably one of the more critical people of Islam on these forums, but banning burkas makes no sense whatsoever. Unless you want to ban sunglasses or scarfs worn too high or any number of things then it makes no sense.
