No, I don't mean that in a weird way, but before you can expect others to accept and love you for who you are, put yourself in their shoes and think if you'd actually want to date yourself, and if not, what qualities you'd need to change to make that happen.

To get over it, you need to be confident, and be able to pick up some social cues. It comes with experience and loads of practice
