The atheists booked the only remaining space in the capitol building back in August, and the Catholic Church just assumed they'd get it. When told they wouldn't get it, and that the reason is that the atheists booked it before them, they reacted just like you'd expect---like a toddler who is told that their sibling took the last piece of candy.
They have to take their nativity down on the 21st, because the atheists booked the space the week of Christmas. And they did so by filling out the appropriate forms in a timely manner.
They say that if they had booked the space, they would have shared with the atheists, and that it is typical Christian persecution that the atheists are not sharing the space with the Catholics during Christmas... I call the most heinous of bullshit on that. Lying for Jesus, again.
Brilliant!
Know what I'd do if I was a member of this Nebraska atheists group? I'd put up a Nativity Scene in that space. And next to it, a Menorah. And next to that, every other religious symbology for the solstice holiday that exists or has existed in history.
"This is what religion looks like, motherfuckers."
A Christian told me: if you were saved you cant lose your salvation. you're sealed with the Holy Ghost
I replied: Can I refuse? Because I find the entire concept of vicarious blood sacrifice atonement to be morally abhorrent, the concept of holding flawed creatures permanently accountable for social misbehaviors and thought crimes to be morally abhorrent, and the concept of calling something "free" when it comes with the strings of subjugation and obedience perhaps the most morally abhorrent of all... and that's without even going into the history of justifying genocide, slavery, rape, misogyny, religious intolerance, and suppression of free speech which has been attributed by your own scriptures to your deity. I want a refund. I would burn happily rather than serve the monster you profess to love.
