I saw the inconsistencies and when I asked questions about them to a pastor, I received circular arguments. I left because no one should ever feel confused about a faith they were indoctrinated into as a child. The main problem is that many people (billions) believe in ethnocentric Middle Eastern Jewish and Arabian religious fairy tales when they are not Jewish or Arab. That's like a Swede believing in an Aztec deity. Or like an Eskimo believing in Hinduism. It's silly.
Being as none of it made sense, as I grew into adulthood, confirmation of that became obvious. I have yet to have any of those questions I asked long ago, answered to the point that they actually made any sense. For me, it only seems logical that there is no god of any kind and there never was. There are just too many horrible things in this world that could have been prevented if such a "loving god" did exist.
