For example, if I install a game client on my local computer (Fallout, for example), I could just have all the data files on my home computer, and use a virtual internet drive to access the files. So my little Notebook computer can save its memory.
I can also watch movies on my home computer at work, because at that speed, the movie will download faster than it plays.
This is the point to really "get": at half a Gig/second, the internet is basically a SATA device, like a hard drive or a DVD rom. And that means that ALL the things you'd do, like running software or editing big videos on the fly.
Another thing you can do is remotely access your home computer. Normally, this leads to crap frame rates and a bad experience. But I'm pretty sure I could use my home computer on my work computer, and it would be just like being there.
