What if you change your DNS server to PIA's (209.222.18.222 & 209.222.18.218 - you don't need to be their customer to use their DNS), does that fix the problem? Or better yet, set-up dnscrypt on your system.
Is it a criminal offence to access blocked content?
When I forget to use Hotspot Shield, a police page comes up. It scared the shit out of me the first couple of times, now I just say, "Ooops, gotta turn that stuff on."
I don't know about the DNS server, but that's a pretty interesting idea. I think that is how it's working. . . that the DNS server is rerouting me to the police page. To be honest with you, though, streaming media is bottlenecked by the American ISPs anyway, so the extra Internet speed wouldn't do anything for me. HS works fine.
As I mentioned before, the high internet speed really works well when I want to share or access my OWN content, like if I want to download stuff back and forth between the office. If I'm downloading my Christmas movies collection, for example, I wouldn't want it to take a week. Instead, I can download a full DVD in about 2 minutes.
