this leads me to believe windows7 isnt even worth looking at as an upgrade option and it would probably be a better plan to wait for windows8:

if the server version of vista can be updated to 7 with something like a service pack then i doubt 7 is different to vista in a core and significant manor as to warrant a new shiny disc.
