That's being very nitpicky, according to wikipedia the Qu'ran mentions slavery 29 times, mostly rules about the legal status of slaves. Also the little fact that Muhammad himself took slaves during his conquests. So either he was morally wrong to do so, or taking slaves during conquests is permitted in Islam.

Mentions it since it was a fact. 
Yet again, how many of these verses contained the word "molk yameen" ? that is; Molk Yameen is something different than a slave.

Quoting wikipedia :

The Quran, Surah 90:13 cleary stated , the act of freeing of a slave [27] will make those people who do such deed to be categorized as the Companions of the Right,[28] a term for the blessed people in hereafter.[29]

Reward & blessings, are always given after doing something good. If taking slaves was ok, then how is freeing appreciated that much ?


All evidence leads me to see slavery as a despised thing in the Quran.

Then why did Muhammad take slaves?
