The similarities between Zarathustra and Muhammad

The similarities between Zarathustra and Muhammad
I posted about this in the recent thread asking about the Zarathustrians (e.g. Parsis), and it got me thinking. Are there anymore similarities between Zarathustra and Muhammad? Sadly, I've not taken that much time to really research the impact of the Zarathustrian texts on other religions, but it does appear that later religions (only Hinduism came earlier than Zarathustra) are greatly influenced by his writings. However, you can read the Gathas (hymns) here.

He was a good man, but those in power didn't appreciate his preaching. They hated his call for strict monotheism. Those in power offered him everything but he kept on preaching - determined that people should know the truth. Although those in power hated him, he kept gaining support. And his teachings have since influenced the lives of millions.

If you thought I was talking about Zarathustra you'd be correct. But you'd also be correct if you thought I was talking about Muhammad. Isn't that interesting? When the marauders from southern Arabia invaded Persia they must have copied from the Zarathustrians. Wow!

And I cited this very interesting video discussion:

For those who don't know, Zarathustra was a prophet who lived at least 3000 years ago in (ancient) Persia, if not 4000 years ago. As a result of invaders plundering Persia (Iran) over the years and, encouragement, through a wicked taxation system or by the sword, to copy the ways of Muhammad, sources about the life of Zarathustra are rare. But we do know that he created very first monotheistic religion and the Gathas, thankfully, survive to this day.
