Don't you think these wealthy traders had an agenda to get rid of some competition? In which world are you living? You think, these people were so much different than our contemporaries when it comes to greed and getting even more money by any means possible?
Well, you probably take shelter in the apologist narrative again. But let's stay on planet Earth for a while.
It's hard for me to see how the wealthiest traders in Mecca, would embrace Islam & destroy many sources of income forever.
Most of the companions were traders, being a part of the Prophet's movement caused them to starve & some even died, when Muslims were ordered to leave Mecca to Madina, immigrants lost lots of their possessions including their homes.
I don't see that as a "master plan" for world domination.
