I think the billions the saudis spend building mosques and funding preachers all over the world may have something to do with this. Add to that the fact that Islam is a one way religion, meaning you can get in, but you can't leave. Of course you don't tell westerners that, you tell them the good parts and when they say the chahada you tell them if you leave your head will fly. And add to that men marry 4 women and have as many children as "Allah wills" and the welfare tax payers pay for them of course, while the reasonable people who do the financial math only have one if any children at all.
I wouldn't be too excited if I were you about Islam taking over the world, it will be pretty much exactly like when Islam took over the middle east: Muslims will kill one another, except this time it will be on a global scale, I don't think you will like it very much.
