The real seekers of truth often work in labs where truth (meaning understanding which allows one to accurately predict future events) is sought diligently. Then they leave those labs and start companies using the understanding gained there to make big bucks from their initial public offerings.
Your 'God doesn't tell us monetarily valuable things because His motives are above money.' is the same bogus argument used by psychics to explain why the spirits can't do anything useful for their faithful.
