That's not entirely true, what these pictures are trying to say.  There's been a few examples of atheists who shoot up prayer meetings and stuff like that, communist dictators who ban religion.

That's really missing the point.  People don't shoot up prayer meetings and ban religion "because they don't believe in god," which is what's required in order to 'do something because of atheism.'  Stalin didn't ban religion because he was an atheist, he instituted a state religion with himself as the head because he was a megalomaniacal sociopath.  You can't perform an act based on a simple lack of a belief, it doesn't make any sense.

For example, I don't support church-state-separation 'because I don't believe in God.' I support it because I do believe it's the most effective and safest way to run our country's government. You act in accordance with your beliefs, not you non-beliefs.
