Many people claim atheists are nihilistic. I see that a lot of religious people here in the US are worse. Let's elect the guy who's promised to burn it down. Maybe this time when a pandemic strikes, only the stupid will die.
If you get to thinking you’re a person of some influence, try ordering somebody else’s dog around.
Trump supporters will exactly what they deserve. The problem is that the rest of us will have to suffer too.

World would be a far better place if consequences of fools actions would fall solely on them.
The first revolt is against the supreme tyranny of theology, of the phantom of God. As long as we have a master in heaven, we will be slaves on earth.
Mikhail Bakunin.
I guess one has to admire the sheer despotism of Trump: he has a stock company and a cryptocurrency (among other things) by which anyone can buy him.
But it won't be a walk in the rosy park for him either. He is incompetent and will fuck up and people will be protesting on the streets. He will quickly learn that America is not a lords and peasants system.
teachings of the Bible are so muddled and self-contradictory that it was possible for Christians to happily burn heretics alive for five long centuries. It was even possible for the most venerated patriarchs of the Church, like St. Augustine and St. Thomas Aquinas, to conclude that heretics should be tortured (Augustine) or killed outright (Aquinas). Martin Luther and John Calvin advocated the wholesale murder of heretics, apostates, Jews, and witches. - Sam Harris, "Letter To A Christian Nation"

I don’t wish misery on anyone, but I’m going to laugh like a mental patient when his supporters who voted with their wallets get a taste of Trump’s economy. Deport millions of agricultural workers, put 20% tarrifs on imported goods - what’s the worst that could happen?
But at least he’ll be announcing his healthcare scheme ‘in two weeks’. Boru

They'll only see what Faux News tells them. They believe the lies they're fed over the uncomfortable reality around them.
Yesterday, a resident walked by and saw the community telly was on CNN. The resident said, "Turn off that communist crap and put Fox News on." Then a fellow employee looked at the telly and said, "I didn't vote for that communist woman." That's irrational Florida for you.

Your best hope (and I’m not confident about it) is that Trump fucks up so badly that the Democrats take back the House and Senate in two years.
Whether that happens or not, it’s gonna be a goddamed rough ride. Boru

Of course, there are next elections in two years. People need to stop thinking about the worst scenarios and need to stop freaking out.
