That reminds me of a fundie xtian friend from college - - I still meet up with sometimes and usually regret it. (But damn it, we had such good times in college - sigh.) The topic turned, one day, to this great story she had seen on Facebook - she pulled out her phone to show it to me. Instead of biting my tongue, I told her that I had seen that story, and that it had been proven as a hoax. She was furious - with me - for checking Snopes and the University that the story referenced. Her response was that the STORY WAS TRUE BECAUSE THE MESSAGE WAS TRUE!!!!
She didn't speak to me for over a year.
So if that's what you mean by "they aren't lying". Sure they are. To themselves. Which makes it a bigger problem.
