Good ones DvF I hate that English lacks a way to express simple disinterest. When people ask my opinion about a person I have a hard to explaining that I feel nothing about them because there is no words to that effect that do not have connotations indicating good or bad thoughts.
I thought of another word that bugs me: utilize. There is no reason to say utilize except to try to sound smart. It was beaten into me in college that there is no reason to utilize the word utilize when use is far less clumsy a word and means the exact same thing.
