We cannot fault politicians for dodging questions. They are not there to answer them honestly, they are there to push an agenda, and so every word they say has to be carefully crafted so that it conveys a particular message which the media will surely pick up. If any one politician started being absolutely sincere in every single interview then he would lose a lot of voters and supporters with every uttered phrase. It's completely unrealistic to expect them to do this. Rather, people should be smart enough to judge the candidate based on his political past and judge that against what he says he'll do in the future and thus strike a balance.
