She was an odd one; I never knew exactly what to make of her. She respected the scientific method and she made honest efforts to address criticism of her work but she had a bunch of crackpot beliefs like alien visitors and the government being responsible for AIDS and 9-11.

I've never heard anyone accuse her of the TV mind rot modern conspiracy "Alien visitors". At best she may have made a point that ancient civilizations may have made claims about human like life coming from they sky BUT that would have been based on their own anthropomorphism reflecting their own superstitions back then. Or modern people projecting backwards in time to justify their "little green men" Area 51 bullshit.

But no, we have NOT been visited by intelligent beings. There is evidence that microbial life should be able to survive in hostile climates and or lay dormant and piggy back on a meteor or commit. But none of the ancient aliens crap was ever true. The little green men conspiracy started as a result WW2 and the cold war when people confused secret technology for being ET.
