Dodo is one of the only ISPs in Australia that still offer dial-up plans. But look at how the cost of internet has fallen. In the glory days of the early-mid 90's internet cost around $1 per hour. Then the price dropped to around $1 per day "unlimited hours" ($30 per month) from the mid-late 90's-on. When Dodo started in 2001, they offered "budget" dial-up for 9.90/mo (33c per day), but more recently they've dropped the price right down to $1 per month. It may not be "super-fast" ADSL at 256kbps (yes that really was the ADSL speed in 2001). All I can say is thank sweet baby Jesus that we had VDSL in Canberra from 2001 (although not all of Canberra, since the ACT Labor government refused to trench wires for the southern suburbs with trenched power, and even refused to trench in areas of other suburbs such as Kambah that were deemed "too far from the polls").

"That's disgusting. There were clean athletes out there that have had their whole careers ruined by people like Lance Armstrong who just bended thoughts to fit their circumstances. He didn't look up cheating because he wanted to stop, he wanted to justify what he was doing and to keep that continuing on." - Nicole Cooke
