I know, I'm a hopeless romantic. A few people have told me recently that I have a heart of gold. I had to explain how that's not as desirable as it's meant to be - gold is heavy and cold, and easily dented.

It would be good if you could find someone to pass the time with. 
She might not be able to replace the love of your life, but there's no reason for her to have to know that.
