Allah could have made women with a flap of skin across their face or with zero head hair so men would not be sexually aroused by them. That would still mean women are viewed as sex objects, of course, but at least it'll mean they aren't at risk of Vitamin D deficiency. The practice seems to rooted in Middle Eastern culture that was later incorporated into various religions. Humans are basically superstitious twits who have created thousands of silly rituals to ensure good luck and health.
Humans should be having to take Vitamin D supplements. Allah should just design them better so that they don't have to cover their entire bodies in the first place. I'll say it again: Allah is incompetent. Can you imagine living in the middle of the desert and having to go out dressed in many thick black layers simply because you get paranoid otherwise? The heat would me make so ill do I don't know how people manage, but they somehow do. It's disgusting the way people abuse their bodies for the sake of an old book.
Most people, even though they might be dummies, are smart enough to draw the line on some things. Mohammed said that people should drink a mixture of camel milk and camel piss but I don't think even the religious nuts do that.
