Yeah, I don't want anyone to take that as fact, because it's based on rumours. I'd be very interested if anyone has any experience which they think supports this idea.

Middle Eastern women were wearing sacks since they first got cloth.  In the Bible it was the preferred costume of whores.  That way they could turn tricks and the guys didn't know who they were screwing or if the woman was old or ugly.  There's a great story in the Bible about it, Genesis chapter 38.

Hijaab would of been ambiguous, because it's the word we say now, but all it would mean is veil, and would not convey the meaning that hair ought to be covered. However a more clear word is used to imply the hair should be covered is used in Quran, and it's unambiguous, and in my opinion anyone who is wants to sincerely know what the Quran says regarding the issue, will know it is clear in this regard. I disagree with the notion that there is ambiguity over this issue in Quran.

Paul said that Christian women are to wear the hijab in church.  Most told him to go fuck himself.

If Allah wants humans to cover doesn't that mean that humans are badly designed? Think about it: Allah made men and women look the way they do. Allah could have made women with a flap of skin across their face or with zero head hair so men would not be sexually aroused by them. That would still mean women are viewed as sex objects, of course, but at least it'll mean they aren't at risk of Vitamin D deficiency.

Humans should be having to take Vitamin D supplements. Allah should just design them better so that they don't have to cover their entire bodies in the first place. I'll say it again: Allah is incompetent. Can you imagine living in the middle of the desert and having to go out dressed in many thick black layers simply because you get paranoid otherwise? The heat would me make so ill do I don't know how people manage, but they somehow do. It's disgusting the way people abuse their bodies for the sake of an old book.

To be fair Noone is born modest. Everyone pretends to be modest.

The practice seems to rooted in Middle Eastern culture that was later incorporated into various religions.  Humans are basically superstitious twits who have created thousands of silly rituals to ensure good luck and health.  

Most people, even though they might be dummies, are smart enough to draw the line on some things.  Mohammed said that people should drink a mixture of camel milk and camel piss but I don't think even the religious nuts do that.

You should see women fully covered in black splashing in the ocean in Saudi Arabia.
