That doesn't work, to say that because something is supposedly present in everything yet you are not aware of it then it does not exist would be equally applicable to people with awareness of material objects prior to atomic theory - By your reasoning they could conclude that atoms don't exist because they are present in all things and yet outside of their awareness.
