This is what life boils down to and it is way past time more humans accept this.
EVOLUTION... Which is why the "not all" argument is not an argument. Fear of the unknown and unfamiliar is a coping mechanism, but, without a evolutionary scientific understanding of this, we instead as a species, create our groups around ideas, and those patters DO set up safety in numbers. The problem with that is the dark side is that we become tribal and that dark side causes conflict, most of the time needlessly.
But when you talk about brain function, it is a matter of which part of the brain is more dominate that will determine if someone is more empathetic and those who are more sociopathic with little to no empathy. Both exist and unfortunately evolution does not care which wins.
But we can chose to be more aware of reality and foster more of the empathetic side of our species. I do agree that economic conservatism represents the selfish side of our species, and even atheist Ayn Rand took that position. I also agree that religious conservatives ALSO represent the selfish side of our species morso religious tribalism, but as we see it can be combined with wealth too. Some Arab States are very wealthy and at the same time also very theocratic.
But then, there is the good side of our species, the empathetic side. Including theists, although I'd suggest to them that their empathy really is in them, and not the religion itself.
But yea, on average, I do agree with the video as to the roots of racism.
