I played in various brass bands in my youth.
I started out on the tenorhorn and eventually moved over to cornet and flugelhorn.
When the Drum Major died I took over that role during marches.
Finally I ended up being the conductor for a few years.
I was the bugler every Anzac Day and played The Last Post at all the digger's funerals.
Also played in the local orchestra and concert band. Had a paying job with a jazz band and an old time dance band.
Then I had a car accident and smashed half of my top teeth out plus a few bottoms.
Never played anything brass ever again.
I just play a bit of guitar now and I'm really good on the keyboard. :-)
