Sorry, but the state shouldn't have to pay for a child they had no hand in creating. If mom is working two jobs and still struggling, then dear old dad should be stepping up to the plate and helping. If he has a problem with that then perhaps he should have used protection to prevent a pregnancy.
I realize not all scenarios are like this. But contrary to popular belief, most women are not sitting on their collective asses getting welfare. The way it (TANF) has been redesigned, a woman can only be on it for a maximum of five years and then she's off it. SNAP is entirely different. There is no time limit with that.
Don't assume all single mothers are out to bleed a man dry either. Most just want the dads to step up and help with the responsibility of taking care of the life they created.
