All of the, so called, philosophical arguments for the existence of a god are flawed.
Cosmological, teleological, ontological, TAG, Aquinas's "5 ways", etc, etc. All of them have at least one fallacy and/or unsound premise.
They are only convincing to the already convinced.
But yeah, "there's stuff, therefore there's a stuff maker" is pretty damned moronic.
I always return to this:
You'd believe if you just opened your heart" is a terrible argument for religion. It's basically saying, "If you bias yourself enough, you can convince yourself that this is true." If religion were true, people wouldn't need faith to believe it -- it would be supported by good evidence.
