His teaching were top unfortunately after some time that he left his body (physical death) his spirituality slowly slowly die down and now we got a religion so no I do not follow Buddhism.
I follow spirituality coming from a great master very similar to Buddha.
Thank you I was just curious because I got the impression from some of your posts and you religious views of 'in Him I believe' that you worshipped a god, but my understanding of Buddhism has no god involved in that the Buddha never claimed to have come to his conclusions through anything other than reason... no divine intervention... and he saw himself as a teacher, not a god to be worshipped. But since his time, religions have sprung up around it and added their own elaborations and superstitions, so I just wondered which one you were.
Let us clear that bit of a confusion in your post.
1) To believe in God you don't have to be religious.
In fact religions in part prevent from understanding God.
Religions ask God for their daily bread or for the paradise.
This is something wrong.
Life is all about learning so people will have to earn their daily bread and their paradise.
2) Buddha was dealing with people that had a particular way of dealing with reality so he had to
establish a relationship with them that would be easy for them to understand.
Buddha was practicing yoga, pure yoga and yoga is all about reducing the distance that separate
us with God in order to merge in God and become God so there is no question that Buddha was
believing in God 100%.
The reason why he didn't mention God was because he had to deal with people who wouldn't understand how the whole system works therefore he used different meaning to get the message through.
3) It is true that he saw himself as a teacher, not a god to be worshipped.
He was following yoga and yoga is spirituality.
Spirituality is the opposite of religion in the way that it doesn't make sense to worship.
In yoga you are God so it doesn't make sense to worship yourself but religions think that God is external so there is need to worship.
Have a good day.
