Politicians are sometimes cunts and they usually have stupid polices.

I would change that to most of the times. Far removed from the people they're supposed to represent. Slightly worse in the USA with their rent a politician model. But only slightly, since being bribed quickly becomes the global standard. There have been some polls on which profession garners the least respect. It's politicians. Less respected than prostitutes.

Personally I would be hard pressed to name even a handfull of our national politicians being honest. Our current president falls into this rare category. Never been caught with his hands in the trough and always opting for humane solutions instead of playing to cheap populism. An agnostic, by the way, which didn't prevent people to vote him into office twice.
