No, I have never rejected any nice guys; I tend to like nice people. The last person I dated who felt the need to describe himself as a "nice guy" had an actual temper tantrum when I told him I wasn't ready for sex with him on the third date. I didn't see him again after that.
Yes, the abuser waited six months before he started the abuse, so I would say I was tricked.
