Well Thena, as far as our community goes, women choose to be housewives instead of pursuing careers.

Do you think there aren't any women in Western cultures who choose the same? There are a few SAHM's on this board alone.

If what you are saying is true and husband regularly treat women as inferiors, like a dog, then wouldn't you think that the woman would be entirely displeased, look like shit with all the work her man makes her do, have regular fights at house and cops get called in etc?

Is that what you think? That relationships in which the woman has a career are like you described above?

I see these women daily, they look stunning, there is no stress in their face because" hubby will take care of it ", they don't look unhappy in the slightest ,

How would you know how happy they were? People I've known for years have shown stunned surprise when they've learned I suffer from clinical depression; how would someone on the street have any idea what I'm thinking or feeling? The fact that you can say things like that so flippantly adds another layer to the fact that you don't see women as equals to you. What happens if the husband dies?

we don't have a single cop visit from domestic violence, and in my entire life time I've seen only 1 divorce case, which was my uncles.

if your assertion that women were being oppressed and treated like shit were true then my observations would've been different. But these observations does match up with me asserting that they are treated as princesses, which they like, hence them lot leaving their husband. I treat all my girlfriends like little princess baby's, then aren't breaking up with me for belittling, dehumanizing and treating them like dogs (as per what you're saying)... Maybe I really am treating them like gods and they like it.  Dig?  :')

Oh, I see. treating them like "little princess baby's [sic]" isn't nearly as condescending as dehumanizing them "like dogs", as you say (though I treat dogs just as well as I do any human, so...).

I don't even know what you're talking about. I'm taking about what I see everyday in our community, not India as a whole, you don't have to tell me that India in large have people with backwards mentality,their communities are more often than not in remote areas and they don't get as much as education,which we are improving. Like.. I don't even know what to say to you anymore.. I think you have this mental image that we have our women cuffed in our basements and whip them if they don't do house chores.. Like seriously, sometimes you can be wrong,you aren't right every. Single. Time.
