I said experts, they're experts on gathering information, plus the Egyptian aviation minister who I'm guessing knows a bit about aviation and accidents.

Why, because he's a minister? How many ministers do you know of, who are experts in their fields and not simply politicians with advisors. Also, crash investigators are specially trained to find the reasons by investigating the wreckage. I guess, even you don't assume this minister belonging to that select crew.
