That is pretty stupid if you ask me. You wont get rid of a global market in any case, but not voting long term insures those you don't agree with have more opportunity to have more power, and our democratic voter apathy over the past 35 years has not helped.
Now even without the issue of economics, pulpit politics alone is enough for me as an atheist to vote being a minority myself. If you want to admit defeat, you can, I wont.
And no, the parties ARE NOT the same. Our voters as voters as progressives are on the right side of history. Hillary was not holding office 36 years ago when Reagan started deregulation and union busting. Our entire congress, long before Hillary took any public office, got hijacked by the religious and economic right and they have held everyone hostage with the "cold war commie" slur which in turn, in that entire time has caused even our politicians to compete to prove we were not. So we end up throwing the obstructionist right a candy bar like bratty kid at the candy isle just to shut the up.
OUR VOTERS however, are on the right side of history. We value voter's rights. We value equal pay for women. We value livable wages. We value affordable education and universal health care. We value the woman's right to control her reproduction. If you want to blame anyone for not making progress blame US the voters for our own apathy especially in midterms. One personality and one politician isn't a cure all.
Now a right wing SCOTUS would not only be a disaster giving more big corporations power, but for women and non Christians and voters rights, that also would get worse. You should care, because while you may not vote, the collective voting habits of anyone you might disagree with does affect you.
