The State Department had precious little to do with Iraq.  That was a Pentagon/CIA shitshow.  Again, watch the documentary.

I'm not insinuating the state department having anything to do with it. Other than Bush and cronies being in for the ride together. Powell, to his credit, distanced himself after the fact. Maybe a bit late, but still the only person having at least a shred of decency in this setup.

But, stupid is as stupid does, as Forrest Gump used to say. And that's what made ISIL.
