No it doesn't. Where there is a weakling without guns who I could easily assault, I can just as easily relieve the weakling of his gun or break his trigger hand by force before assaulting him. He would be better off carrying a club or knife that would actually be useful for the purpose of resisting disarmament.
But here in the real world, you or I couldn't get within 5' of someone who had a gun out ready to use it. You didn't strike me as the Internet badass type, Chuck.
p.s. Pistols make pretty decent clubs. Shotguns make excellent clubs.
