Don't know where you get the 50 injured from, since there aren't any reported injuries besides the suspected gunman, who didn't fire a single shot. He took hostages and the SEK, similar to SWATS teams, took him out.
Nobody says, things like that don't happen in Germany. This has been as unbloody as it comes, and is in no way comparable to Orlando. But there have been mass shootings, once in a blue moon. School shootings mostly, two or three maybe, over the stretch of 2 decades. Compare that number to the USA and come again about gun laws in Germany. Which aren't as strict as in the UK, which hasn't seen a mass shooting since Dunblane in 1996 and the ensuing legislation.
German police officers fired something like 90 shots in 2014 with two being fatal, if I'm not mistaken, since I'm taking this off the top of my head from last years reports. Again, try a comparison to the USA.
