It's not all great and wonderful being top dog. Anything bad that happens, you'll be expected to help because you have all the power and influence. Also, it's easy to blame the big feller.
Like leaders, if things don't go the way they should in a country, there'll be lots of fingers aimed at you.
If I was offered power like that, I'd gladly turn it down and run for the hills. Better to be little in power and have no outside expectations. Less attention, less fighting, less spending...more for you to do as you wish.
You know, if you lovely Americans really started cutting back in military and in other places and really pull it all back and remove yourself from power yourselves, I'd reckon you'd all be a lot happier as a result, not to mention a more stable economy. Be doing yourselves a big favour when you think about it. You've had your turn as world police, let someone else do it and relax more. Besides, you're gonna fall from power anyway. Why not? More expensive trying to remain top dog, like trying to paddle your boat up an endless fast stream. Gonna have to give in at some point.
