Mint does the same. Mint is more lightweight and cinammon is perfect for the person that is used to Windows. Also, regular updates and no need for virus software is what makes it the tits for me.

Download Linux Mint and burn it to a CD and boot from it, if I remember correctly. It should give you the option to either install it or test it Live.
