I'd guess he's pretty far from actual crazy, though. And, I definitely wouldn't consider adopting sick infants/children a character flaw.
At any rate, I hope ole' nutty Jim isn't the fraud that his buddy and brother in Christ, Mel Gibson is. Mel dropped his wife, and mother of his eight children to go go nail some hot Russian broad. Not as bad as some schmuck leaving his family in abject poverty, of course, but highly unbecoming nonetheless.

I think this behavior contradicts what people think Christianity is all about, but in truth the opposite is true.
Mel knowing he is far from perfect seeking redemption is what makes him christian, not his ablity to live a perfect life.
Mel is no different than any other person who is a slave to sexual sin, and seeks redemption for it. It does not make him any more or less 'christian' in the sight of the Lord.
