Then you fail to understand my position. A scientific fact will not conflict with religion because religion does not make scientific fact claims. If a person holds religious beliefs that are opposed to scientific fact, then they are really not true religious beliefs (perhaps a god-of-the-gaps belief) and should be discarded.
OK, are you saying you don't believe in a virgin birth? a man rising from the dead? to name just two religious beliefs ...
The reason I ask is by your statement a religious person that does believe in such things as above do not have "true religious beliefs" ...
