Why when I was a kid I stepped on a rusty nail in my own bedroom (true story by the way) and I still had to finish cleaning my room before I was allowed to go to the hospital. Now look at the mess my kids are in, they don't even have any rusty nails in their rooms! How will the ever learn about the real world in this bubble!
Nope, just saying it looks different from the kids perspective. And it sticks. The definition of safe also changes over time. I had a mother carrying safe to a whole new neurotic level. Not saying you're doing it. Of course one should do everything to keep their offspring from harm. Within reason.
Sure yea I get it. I just get tired of being looked down on and condescended to by people who survived even though their parents let them drink directly from the water spicket. That's great but it's still disgusting, unhealthy, and potentially dangerous. My kids and my dogs are my only priorities in this world. I work so hard to give them a safe, happy, balanced environment to grow up in. So it gets tiresome to have that constantly devalued by people who won't take me seriously because I care too much.
