Here is a definition of religion provided by merrium webster:
an interest, a belief, or an activity that is very important to a person or group
So then with this definition in mind.. please explain how science does not fall into this "FORM" (his words) of Religion?
...Seems to me 'education' would have one consider all possibilities of a word or meaning, and not just automatically exclude all none typical points of understanding or reasoning given a word or subject matter.
It seems to me that an educated person would demonstrate a little discernment in deciding which definition is apt, given the context. According to you, apparently, my mother's interest in gardening, my brother's interest in long distance running, and my interest in receiving blow jobs might qualify as religions.
Tell me you're not (1) that dishonest; (2) that fucking stupid; or (3) both.
Being new to the forum (welcome, by the way), I am very impressed with your ability to nail Dritch's dishonesty so quickly.
If you stick around here and get into any debates with him, you will have more than enough examples to verify your initial impression of him.
You'd believe if you just opened your heart" is a terrible argument for religion. It's basically saying, "If you bias yourself enough, you can convince yourself that this is true." If religion were true, people wouldn't need faith to believe it -- it would be supported by good evidence.
