Maybe I am too sensitive about it I don't know. I just don't think these jokes are funny. For almost 8 years now I've been anywhere from playfully teased to harshly belittled all because I care about my kids supposedly too much. I fail to see the joke.
We are "over protective" parents as well, Losty. Don't feel bad. We have even had friends give us funny looks over saying things like, 'we would like to be home by 6ish because Christopher goes to bed around 7." Like, suddenly we are insanely neurotic people for wanting our child to get a good night's sleep. We are the parents, and it's our job to take care of our children who cannot take care of themselves. I will never let anyone make me feel guilty about that. Maybe I watch too much Dateline, but I honestly don't even care.
