Nope - that sounds like textbook repression. That's why in more puritan times many people spent a lot of their time on time-intensive hobbies, art, writing journals and other such pursuits, which help one keep sexual instincts out of mind.
It's perfectly possible to survive without sex, without being asexual, however in modern times it's somewhat more difficult, because we're being bombarded by sexual stimuli by people and organizations trying to sell us sh*t, we're being made to believe, that quantity and quality of sex is a reflection of one's success in life and that everyone else is having great sex all the time.
