I used to work out doing taekwondo three times a week, before my health went south almost 5 years ago. I lost my will to do much of anything, because everything suddenly got so much harder. Really I lost my will to live, and I didn't give a fuck about much for years.
It's been really easy to find reasons to stay inactive, and I put on a lot of weight, which was on top of the ton of weight I put on due to a medication I was on.
Exercise and chronic pain is a bitch of a combination.
Fuck the pain, I can do this. It gets easier for every pound. I'll be ready to get back to hiking and backpacking by spring and I may be back in shape for scuba by next summer.
Yeah, I'm serious. I want the years I have left to be active. I may not be able to reverse the condition that causes all of my pain but lowering the pressure on my joints can't hurt.
