I wasn't making the point that society will collapse because of hpv.

I was pointing out that its wrong to say that being as promoscious as you like as long as you use protection will cause no harm.

What harm will being -promiscuous- cause?  You;re stuck talking about diseases, but that's not promiscuity, it's unthinkingly fucking diseased people....and assuming that the people you fuck are invariably diseased.

Now I was taking protection to mean using a condom, which might break.

Oh nooooesssss!  You might...might, end up with a kid.  Perish the thought, the continuity of the human race, how horrible.  

If you take the term protection to literally be protected by condoms that won't break, a hpv vaccine and you're just talking about protection in the way that you're saying this person is protected from everything bad that could possibly happen, then yes person can have as much sex as they like and definitely nothing bad will happen.

In reality though a lot of people don't know about or don't have access to hpv vaccines. Use condoms that may break, so on and so forth.

I'm not saying something bad happening is statistically likely, just not impossible.

It would be nice if some of us didn't live in shitholes in which this vaccine was not available...or where puritanical asshats try their best to make people feel like shitty parents for considering it for their children...but that's the risk of living in a shithole full of puritans, not a risk of promiscuity.

The irony being that the puritanical impulse is a more effective contributor to all the things that the puritanical impulse fears than promiscuous (lol.......still amused that we're even pretending that this is a thing) sex is. Teen pregnancy, highest where "traditional values" are highest. Why? Because you can't talk about it, aren't supposed to think about it...it's taboo...and so ofc people are unprepared or uninformed. Hence a whole lotta babies.
