The Kurds never had a lobby. But one would think that two NATO states going to war against each other stresses the alliance more than calling one state back from destroying an asset. Sarcastic word for the Kurds, of course, since they are more or less the boots on the ground for the West. The Iranian backed militias don't count in the same way, I guess.
