Haven't seen the clip yet, but if my thoughts are correct the Aussie was probably aeroplaning once he was clear. You can see that quite often in rugby, just as the player is getting ready to ground the ball. I wouldn't be all that surprised if it weren't intentional.
Doesn't matter, he got ahead of himself mentally. That says to me subconsciously he got over confident. That is simply a stupid mistake. Any coach worth their salt, and I am sure this coach did, had a talk with him on the sideline.
