With all due respect, I think counting calories isn't that hard, and it can really help make dietary choices.
Once think I learned was I can make some really yummy fried vegetables-- a LOT of them, eat them with a bowl of rice, and not too many calories. But if I eat one or two slices of "health" bread, my caloric budget is fucked.
No biggie. I didn't mean to imply that was difficult; just a part of the process that could be toned down once you get into your groove. I'm not an expert on the subject; just sharing my personal method. To each their own, though. It's all good. What matters is that we're trying to do some good for our bodies and health.
